Well, I'm about three weeks in to my Facebook App sabbatical.
Let me explain some things because I've had people ask me questions.
1. I did not delete Facebook.
2. I do check Facebook and Messenger but only at my office on the computer. I do not check it at home or on my phone.
3. I have not nor ever will get my news information from Facebook. Yes, that was a question.
One thing I have definitely noticed is my mood change. Facebook, for myself, had become a place where opinions and bitter arguments were being shoved in front of my face daily. Yes, I know that I can clean up my friends list. But no matter what Facebook still throws things into my timeline because a friend commented or liked. Also, I am not the person who will delete a friend on Facebook over a disagreement. (I have deleted people for other reasons, though. LOL.) My mood began changing due to the fact that I now have the option of what I want to see and when I want to see it. I log on, go to friends' profiles, see how they are doing, answer messages, respond on comments, and log off. It is possible that I feel a little more in control of my world by doing this and if so then so be it.
We shall see how I feel about it after the 23rd but I am actually loving not having it on my phone at the moment.
